“Mock SAT” & “Practice ACT” Tests

College Practice Tests sponsored by the RHS PTSA are scheduled for the 2011-2012 school year as follows:

 

These full-length practice tests, administered by The Princeton Review,  offer students the opportunity to practice test taking strategies and determine baseline scores prior to taking the official SAT and ACT college entrance exams.  Tests results are provided back to the students in the form of a detailed Score Report that identifies individual strengths and areas for improvement.

Mock SAT Test: Saturday, February 25th - 9 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Scores Back Session: March 7th - 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Practice ACT Test: Saturday, March 17th - 1:30-5:30 p.m.

Scores Back Session: Wednesday, March 8th - 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Registration may be limited based on facility or proctor constraints, please register early and/or volunteer to help proctor an exam

 

  

Location: All sessions will be held at Redmond HS

Important Note: These are unofficial tests, just for practice, and are different from the official PSAT

(Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) which will be administered on October 12th by RHS Career Services staff.

SAT Prep offers an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for the SAT!

The SAT PREP COURSE provides dynamic classroom-based instruction at the high schools and is taught by experienced high school teachers. The high school setting provides the best learning opportunities for the students. The course is designed to decrease test anxiety and familiarize students with test directions, types of questions, and test-taking strategies. Analytical tools for mathematical concepts, problem solving, critical reading, and vocabulary are taught. Essay writing, grammar, geometry, and algebra topics are included in the course.

The PRACTICE TEST offered by SAT Prep is a great way to reinforce strengths and identify weaknesses for the SAT. Immediate feedback is guaranteed – the students leave with a marked essay, a better understanding of the scoring of the SAT, and their SAT score from this practice test. All testing materials are sent home with the students for further review.
