Welcome to all of our RHS families and a very
special greeting to families new to the Redmond
High community.
RHS is a wonderful place to educate your
children.
The PTSA works closely with the
administration and staff to give all students
the best possible experience.
We invite you to become a member of PTSA
so that you can be a part of ensuring your
child’s success!
As a PTSA member, you are automatically a member
of the Washington State PTA (wastatepta.org),
and of the National PTA (pta.org).
We encourage you to check out their
websites from time-to-time for valuable
information.
PTSA members all receive a copy of the
RHS student phone directory, as well as a voice
and a vote at our meetings.
Our first General Membership
meeting will be held September 24th
just prior to Curriculum Night in the
school library at 6:30 pm.
All members are encouraged to attend!
Communication is key to ensuring success between
home and school.
To ensure that you receive all proper
communication from RHS, be sure you are signed
up for the free Parent Organizer (the
subscription fee is paid from our PTSA fund).
Many time-sensitive messages and
announcements are sent via this service.
If you are a sophomore parent, it is
important that you update your profile to
include RHS.
Please see instructions elsewhere in this
packet for how to get signed up!
Other important communication tools
include the school website (www.lwsd.org/rhs)
and the RHS PTSA website (www.redmondhsptsa.org).
Please make a note of both as they are
updated regularly.
Beginning this year, RHS PTSA is
“going
green”
and will no longer be sending our “Mustang
Messenger” newsletter out via standard mail.
Instead it will be available
electronically on the PTSA website.
Parent Organizer will notify you when the
new issue has been published and you can view it
via the PTSA website.
If you
instead prefer to receive your copy on paper via
standard mail, you’ll need to check the “opt-in”
box on the Membership form.
As with many organizations, we rely on our
volunteers to be successful!
Enclosed is our volunteer form which you
can use to decide how you can help out and
become involved.
Send your completed form along with your
membership information in the enclosed envelope.
In addition to your PTSA membership and your
volunteer form, we are asking families to show
financial support for our “Pass the Hat”
fund drive.
It is our one and only
fundraiser with our goal deadline of
September 24th
(Curriculum Night).
With the funds we raised last year we
were able to provide over $15,000 to
benefit students and educational departments.
With the “Pass-the-Hat” proceeds, we fund
many projects for the school, including
department grants, scholarships to graduating
seniors, financial support for a drug and
alcohol intervention specialist, the parent
organizer program,
emergency
preparedness supplies, staff appreciation and
partial funding of the Student Agendas your kids
can’t live without!
We would not be able to do any of the
above without your continued generous donations.
Thank you for considering how you may
contribute.
If your company offers “matching funds”
we would be so grateful if you would remember to
include RHS PTSA!
Thank you for your support of RHS PTSA.
We encourage you to contact us with your
ideas and comments.
Here’s to a great year, and welcome to
the Mustang family!
